At Coral Ark Foundation, conservation is at the heart of everything we do. Coral reefs are among the most biodiverse and important ecosystems on the planet, yet they are also some of the most endangered. Rising ocean temperatures, pollution, and destructive human activities have left reefs at critical risk of collapse.
Our conservation initiative focuses on practical, science-led solutions to protect and restore coral populations. Through our UK-based coral farming programme, we reduce the need for wild collection by growing corals sustainably for research, aquaria, and restoration projects. These efforts not only safeguard natural reefs but also provide healthy, resilient coral stocks that can be used in reef recovery worldwide.
We are committed to building global partnerships with marine organisations, scientists, and local communities to share data, restoration techniques, and best practices. By combining research, education, and conservation action, Coral Ark Foundation ensures that our work benefits both ecosystems and the people who depend on them.
Our after-school education programmes provide opportunities for both children and adults to learn about marine conservation outside the classroom. Through interactive workshops, aquarium visits, and hands-on coral science activities, participants can explore:
How coral reefs function and why they matter
The impacts of climate change and pollution on marine life
Practical ways individuals and communities can help protect the ocean
These programmes not only build awareness but also encourage curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving—equipping the next generation of ocean stewards with the knowledge and confidence to make a difference.
We collaborate with schools, colleges, and universities to develop tailored learning modules and citizen science opportunities. By linking formal education with real-world conservation projects, we provide students with valuable insights, practical experience, and pathways into marine research and sustainability careers.
Education is not limited to children and students—we also provide opportunities for adults, community groups, and hobbyists to deepen their knowledge. From lectures and online resources to volunteering opportunities in our research lab and coral nurseries, we believe that everyone can play a role in protecting reefs.
Through this initiative, Coral Ark Foundation is creating a culture of learning, participation, and action—because the future of coral reefs depends on the choices we make today.
We are a registered CIO with the Charity Commission, Gift Aid and with the Fundraising Regulator.
